Everyone's a critic

I post this to show that everyone is entitled to an opinion, and no author is exempt from criticism. I take this and add it to the experience bank.

This first-page reviewer doesn't think my intro is strong enough. I post it to be fair, and to encourage all writers to take criticism with appreciation (if not a bit of angst) and use it!

Self-publishing review

Perhaps she has a point. Perhaps the first page isn't the best hook? I don't know. I wish she would've read the entire book, maybe she did, and she still didn't like it. :) Hey, I don't like TWILIGHT, and that was made into a movie, so there you go.

  1. I think the reviewer should have stopped that the I don't read chick-lit and let it go. If they don't read the genera then why review it?

that would be like me reviewing a book on baseball. :p

  2. Carmen,
My son is reading To Kill a Mockingbird so we got a few "cliff note"/ helpful commentary type books on Mockingbird from the library as well and you know what? Even to Kill a Mockingbird had people who found faults in the writing. So I guess I'm saying you've good company. Hang in there.

Have you bought your copy of "The List" yet? Will you buy one if I beg? Pleeeeeeeze?
